Chrysalis recognises the importance of its responsibility to the environment, the community, its employees and shareholders.  It has adopted a Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, detailing how it intends to meet these responsibilities.

Corporate Governance
Chrysalis maintains the highest standards of corporate ethics.  This will be evident in the transparency of the information we provide to investors and our accountability to them, our commitment to internal control of risk management, the adoption of an ethical investment policy and to a remuneration policy that is focused on long-term shareholder value.

The Environment
We recognise that our activities may have an impact on the environment – both the natural environment of the planet, and the ‘human environment’ in which we live and work from day-to-day.  We will seek to minimise our negative impact on the environment, and find opportunities to enhance our positive impact on our own surroundings.  We will seek to reduce our use of physical resources, reduce the amount of pollution and waste that we generate, and show due respect to our neighbours.

Suppliers
In choosing suppliers we will, where financially feasible, give preference to companies that themselves promote high standards of ethical behaviour.  We will actively avoid companies that we believe to be engaged in unethical practices.

Community and Charity
We recognise the benefit we can bring to the communities where we operate, and to the wider world through charitable activities.  We will make a positive contribution to the lives of the people around us, and facilitate our staff in contributing to worthwhile causes.

Implementation and Communication
We will communicate our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy to our staff, shareholders, customers and suppliers.  We will keep all stakeholders informed of our activities in pursuit of this strategy, and encourage them to offer their support to it.  We will maintain a Corporate Social Responsibility committee, including senior executives from each division within the Group, to act as an internal champion for CSR, and to plan and co-ordinate CSR initiatives.
